Cast Iron is a general term applied to a wide range of iron carbon alloys. Their carbon content is such as to cause some liquid of eutectic composition to solidify. The maximum carbon content is therefore about 2% while the practical maximum is about 4.3%

Cast Iron should not be thought of as metal having single element. It should at least posses’ six elements. These are iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus and sulphur.

Some of the important mechanical properties

• Brinell Hardness Number (b.h.n) = 150 to 225

• It is a brittle material.
• It cannot be beaten in sheets or rolled or forged. Hence it is not a malleable material

Addition of nickel to cast iron produces fine grains, helps formation of graphite and prevents formation of white hard iron nickel & copper ensure an austenitic structure. Chromium and silicon add resistance to scaling. The microstructure of iron is stabilized and formation of fine graphite is promoted by the addition of chromium. The matrix of cast iron is strengthened through promotion of the fine pearlite by the addition of molybdenum.

Valves developed from CuZnAl-alloy & grey cast iron alloy with high phosphorous content to offer high wear resistance as well as improver the years working properties in poor lubrication conditions. The inner bore of these valve  guides is finished to perfect size, not usually done by competitors.

CuZnAl-alloy Guides are with excellent wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. Used for highest stressed guides.  While developing these valve guides, we pay care full attention to the
accurate dimensions, so that they could meet with the OEM standards.

Our valve guide has hardness in range of 160 225 BHN. ValveGuide has microstructure of matrix pearlite with 5% free ferrite. We also provide thread or spiral in inner diameter of valve guide to retain oil for long time between valve and valve guide & increase life both. Our valve guide are grounded to a surface finish 0.80 micro ra value on its outer dia & maintain outer diameter within tolerance of 12 microns. Our valve guide has Super Finish Bore.

• Gudgeon Pin is a component to fasten the Piston and the connecting rod severally and securely, but at the same time permitting enough play for the free angular movement of the connecting rod according to the requirements of kinematics of the Engine assembly.
• Other than the precision of the size, adequate heat treatment process and surface polishing grinding is also important. These processes enhance the wearing of the piston pins and require certain level of technical support.

Cylinder Sleeves, made of gray cast-iron, ought to have desired casting and machining qualities, viz. strength, toughness, hardness and wear resistance. These are mainly of two types – Dry sleeves and Wet sleeves. The sleeves are ‘cast-in fit’, force (press) fit or slip fit. The interference between its outer diameter and bore-hole walls depends on fit-type from 0.050 to 0.075 mm. These are available in wide range suitable for light, medium and heavy duty application.

In order to meet with industrial quality standards, we manufacture these sleeves from sand casting and centrifugal casting, which enables us to maintain the uniform hardness all over. Apart from this, we also keep into consideration various factors including distortion-less bore and low  thermal expansion to meet with the requirements of our clients. These sleeves are available in semi finished as well as full finished sizes.  Cross honing is done on the full finished products to make the inner bore distortion-less. The inner bores are cross honed to provide maximum  smoothness to the surface, that in turn reduces friction, when this inner bore is contacted with Piston Rings.

Process

In the centrifugal casting process, the molten metal is poured into a metal mould or die which is revolving at a high speed. The centrifugal force  causes the metal to distribute itself evenly around the die. The resulting casting are of much finer grain and free from blow holes or porosity. A further  important advantage is that the impurities, being lighter than the iron, are forced centrifugally to the bore surface from which they are removed by machining.

We manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of cylinder Heads & blocks, which are widely popular amidst OEM manufacturers all over the world. These cylinder blocks are exceedingly used in air compressors, industrial engines and tractors. We use superior quality gray Cast-Iron (CI) , suitable for wet-sleeved and non-sleeved engines. CI Casting and shell molding for manufacturing them, which impart them optimum durability. The process cause wear resisting close grained iron casting and this ensures long life and efficient cooling. These cylinder blocks are engineered using state-of-the-art machinery to achieve the perfection level to suit our global clients. In order to provide each piece virtually distortion less inner bore, we also perform cross-line boring. These cylinder blocks are available in the dimensions ranging from 50mm.
